(12/8/2017, Zhengzhou) – This winter, CityOn.Zhengzhou Shopping Center welcomes the arrival of the highly anticipated Ice Palace, a frozen-themed display shipped over from the U.S., opening a more than one month Ice Carnival of authentic holiday traditions and activities for consumers in Zhengzhou and Central China. Visitors to CityOn.Zhengzhou can walk through the Ice Palace experiencing snow falling from the sky and participate at classic Western flavored festivities narrated through fun and innovative activities.

A Lighting Ceremony has been held on November 24 to launch the Ice Carnival and officially kick off the Christmas season. During the night, CityOn.Zhengzhou was filled with holiday atmosphere – with the choir singing songs in front of the Ice Palace. Ten families chosen from a total of 223 were also invited to attend the Lighting Ceremony and to be the first lucky group to visit the Palace and experience a rich variety of interactive activities.

This snow-themed Palace has been firstly introduced almost a decade ago at Taubman malls in the U.S. to celebrate the holiday season. Every Christmas, visitors to Taubman shopping centers could enjoy falling snow, the light show or take pictures with Santa in front of the Palace. This marks the first time Ice Palace to be exhibited in China. The Palace is covered with silver snow coat and surrounded by Christmas trees, and consumers can also receive gifts handed out by Santa at the shopping center.

This past weekend, a fun cosplay party was organized in the Ice Palace at CityOn.Zhengzhou, during which children and parents dressed up in various kinds of costumes to role-play different characters, from Santa Clause to popular cartoon figures, and had fun together playing with the snow, or putting on VR glasses for fun-filled experiences.

In the coming weeks, more exciting activities will be introduced at CityOn.Zhengzhou. Every weekend through December 31, a variety of tech-related interactive activities will be ready for experiencing. Consumers with purchases over RMB199 can redeem for admission tickets to the Ice Palace. And CityOn members could also choose to redeem 100 points for one ticket and participate in these activities for free. This winter, CityOn customers will be taken to a wonderful fairy tale adventure, enjoying the view of snow-covered Palace by wearing VR glasses. Moreover, children can participate in snow DIY with their parents to build houses, little animals, mini snowmen, and more. By introducing these marketing events, CityOn.Zhengzhou will create a heartwarming holiday atmosphere and bring joy to consumers in the region.

CityOn.Zhengzhou officially opened on March 16, 2017 and achieved 100 percent rental rate within a short span of 100 days. The shopping center is jointly developed by Taubman Asia, subsidiary of US mall operator Taubman Centers, and Wangfujing Group, one of China’s largest department store chains. CityOn.Zhengzhou is positioned as a one-stop, international-standard shopping center. CityOn.Zhengzhou will continue to offer a series of innovative and first-to-market events in Zhengzhou, through both online and offline communication channels, so as to enrich the cultural life of Zhengzhou and Central China and turn CityOn into modern regional landmark.
